2 Things I learned by watching TV

1. The easy way to put a duvet cover on. It used to take me forever!! And forever I mean like 15 minutes max! Now it is done in as little as 2-3 minutes...FAN-TAB-U-LOUS! Thanks Martha! I never watch your show, but I'm sure glad I had you on for those few minutes so many years ago. And thanks to the gay couple who wrote in wondering how to do it (put the duvet cover on that is.)

2. How to secure your Saran Wrap or Aluminum Foil roll. Great big "SHOUT OUT" to Ellen on this handy tip. Imagine going through 33 years of your life never knowing this!

Wondering?

So I set up this wonderful blog to talk & talk & talk about all the things I have on my mind, but I don't know where to start. I mean I actually wake up in the middle of the night trying to think of what to say & I'm awake for hours or maybe it's actually minutes, but feels like hours, trying to think of clever & funny things to write about. I bounce back & forth from idea to idea, I think maybe I have adult ADD. I do know of a couple people who have been diagnosed with this lately, maybe it's contagious.

So one idea I had was to start from the beginning. Just talking about growing up in a small town in northern Wisconsin, how your parents would let you just go outside & play & not have to worry about you getting abducted. We would be outside for hours & hours at the neighbors or at the playground at the school playing tag, kickball you name we did it. We always had lots of kids at our house. I was famous for always having the boys over to play outside. Our house what at the bottom of a hill, not a very big hill, but a hill none the less & we would have races on my little brothers riding toys. The Green Machine was the fastest & everyone would fight over who go to ride it. We were about 10 or 11 at the time. We had a blast! I think that's how I got to be the girl who was friends with boys but never the boys "girlfriends". That followed me for a long time. I mean I had boyfriends in grade school, sure, we wrote notes back & forth, sat by each other on field trips & made out in the back of the bus on a dare & even exchanged gifts on Valentine's Day. But they never lasted for more than a week or two until we found a new love. That's how it is you know. And growing up in a small town, we would end up repeating this over & over, because you only had a small selection of fish to choose from. Seriously, what were my Mom & Dad thinking when they would tell me there are other fish in the sea...did they not realize our town had a population of less than 2,000?

Virgin

Yes I'm new to this whole blogging thing, but I thought it would be a good way to get out some thoughts, vent a little, & share with the world some of the craziness of my life. Like right now, totally can't figure out how to get a fun background on this thing. Followed the directions & still nothing! Why can't it be a little easier...like making coffee. Well that's a bad example because actually lots of people have trouble making coffee, anyway. I think I'll have a good time reliving all the wonderful & awful things that go on in my day to day grind. Actually the best part will be sharing lots of fun stories from days long, long ago.
